Organ and Tissue Donor brochures outside the Stoddard Lounge
We all recognize the life-giving benefits of organ and tissue donation. Take a moment to discuss organ and tissue donation with your family. Nearly 90,000 people nationwide currently wait for a life-saving organ transplant and thousands of others are in need of life-enhancing tissue transplants. For many, the chance to live a full life won't come unless all of us consider organ and tissue donation. To think of others at a time of grief and sorrow is truly compassionate and selfless. Please consider the gift of life - organ and tissue donation. The Presbyterian Church (USA) supports this gift in the spirit of love and generosity. Remember to discuss your feelings about donation with your family. For more information, call 1-800-568-4321, or visit http://www.retb.org/ or http://www.donorrecovery.org/.
NEW Adult Study for 2008! - - “ JOHN 3:16 The Numbers of Hope "
Something special is happening this Lenten season, and you have an opportunity to be part of it. Max Lucado’s best selling book, 3:16 the Numbers of Hope, is sweeping the nation. Thousands of churches around the country will be sharing the hope of John 3:16 with their communities in the weeks and months ahead. Easter is the perfect time to explore the most central passage of our Christian faith --- “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” Come and join us for this exciting small group study that is sure to energize your faith and bring new understanding to both seekers and believers alike. As Max Lucado himself states, “If you know nothing about the Bible, start here. If you know everything about the Bible, return here.”
Classes meet each Sunday at 8:30 am in Meeting Room #1 across from the Chapel and will continue each week through Lent and beyond. Group discussions will focus on Lucado’s best-selling book and study materials, including several DVD presentations. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity for spiritual growth and fellowship during the Easter season. Books are available.

New at IPC: Pre-school Sunday School
Just a reminder that our preschool-age Sunday School class will begin the first week of March. We will be meet in the nursery during service. Our preschoolers will learn basic lessons about God through stories, singing, playing, and simple crafts. Through the activities in our curriculum, children will grow spiritually to see themselves as God‘s children, develop a sense of community, and develop their God-given talents and abilities. They will learn to play, work and communicate in a Christian atmosphere with peers and adults.
Please call or email me if you have any questions! 265-1191,
Amy Vallone
Parents PLEASE come to Sunday School and Children's Church to walk your children down to Service and/or coffee hour. According to our policy we may not release children until the parent comes to retrieve them. Teachers may need the extra time after Sunday School to prepare for Children's Church and almost always need the time after Children's Church to clean up. We would like to make sure the children get safely where they need to be AND with proper supervision. Also the teachers would love to see you and tell you about what your child has done! THANKS!
Meals on Wheels Needs Winter Relief Volunteers!
Meals On Wheels provides hot meals and warm smiles to Monroe County’s elderly and homebound. During the winter months, we need substitute volunteers to deliver meals during the lunch hour. Your gift of time can provide the “winter relief” needed. Opportunities are also available for groups to share delivery through our Adopt-a-Route program. Call 787-8326 to find out more!
Seniorsfirst Communities & Services
Valley Manor is actively looking for volunteers. Volunteer drivers would be needed to deliver meals every day of the week, including weekends and holidays. A 1-3 hour commitment is needed. Volunteers are not required to work every day; they may choose the specific days and geographic areas that best suits their needs and schedules. We hope you will consider volunteering as a driver for this program which allows seniors to remain independent in their homes. If you are interested and would like additional information, please contact the Valley Manor Human Resources Office at 770-1962.
Non-perishable Food Items Reminder
We are now collecting non-perishable food items every Sunday and delivering the food to two local food cupboards; the Rochester Food Cupboard and the Irondequoit Community Cupboard. Your food donations can be dropped off in the hallway outside the chapel. Thank you for your generosity!
The Community Food Cupboard needs the following items:
Low salt soup, Macaroni & Cheese, Sugar Substitute, Jello—regular and sugarless, Toilet paper
If you can add any of these to your shopping list it will be appreciated.
WANTED – Ushers and Greeters
Worship Committee is looking for people willing to serve as ushers and/or greeters. We need 2 ushers and 2 greeters each Sunday. Our goal is to have individuals sign up for a month at a time, which will make the “job” much easier for the person in charge of this task.
Please see Kay LaTourette either before or after church to sign-up to usher or greet. Kay or other members of The Worship Committee can answer any questions you may have. Thank you, in advance, for helping by serving as an usher or greeter.
