A
message from Pastor Debbie
Grohman...
Welcome!!
Irondequoit Presbyterian Church is a growing church family, which celebrates inclusivity in Christ! This hospitable church family travels from Greece, Victor, Pittsford, the 19th ward and elsewhere in Monroe County to worship as part of a warm and caring congregation.
During the school year worship attendance averages 90 adults and children. Our babies, children and youth have doting “church parents and grandparents.” Personal connections are a priority whether at worship or at educational, mission, and fellowship events.
Educational priorities for approximately 50 children include a 2 year confirmation program, weekly Sunday School (which begins after the Children’s Worship Message), family/kid dinners, and participation in worship leadership, annual Christmas pageant, and mission field trips.
Lifelong adult learning opportunities include weekly study/discussion groups, a young women’s group, a women’s circle, and an annual trip with Summerville Presbyterian Church to offer aid in Gulfport, Mississippi,.
Our members and friends are generous in financial as well as hands-on support of mission, including Eastern Service Workers Association, community food cupboards, Cameron Community Ministries, Sunset House Hospice, FaithLink (free transportation for Irondequoit seniors,) Church World Service, and PCUSA missions. Our church family supports community groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Pitter-Patter Day Care.
Our Deacons shepherd church members and friends by making monthly contacts, and our Stephen Ministers offer one-to-one care during times of special need.
Our church family likes to eat, laugh, and talk together so there are picnics, dinners, chicken barbeque and other celebratory seasonal events. Musical expression plays an especially important role in our worship experience. Our active and growing adult choir, the bell choir, and instrumental as well as vocal soloists create a rich tapestry of inspirational sounds. In addition to our talented choir director and organist Kathy Thomas, our part-time staff includes secretary Tricia Monigle, and sexton Timo Huttunen.
Come, seek to worship and grow spiritually with us!
Pastor
Debbie
