"You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lamp stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

Youth Group news

IPC's Youth Group has grown! We are anticipating more attendees soon! Our youth are anxious to invite more of their friends to join us! They are very excited and ready to "get to work" to begin fund raisers for our trip to the south to help with the hurricane relief effort.

We have many ideas on the table for a variety of fund raisers. Some of them are:

Pasta Dinner - including a silent auction - we hope to acquire items and services from local Irondequoit merchants.

An After School Party - (church lock-in, bring a dish to pass)

Bake Sales, and Car Washes

These are just a few of the many ideas our youth have expressed an interest in doing. Please join our growing group! We meet every Sunday at 9:15 am - the locations change, so make sure you contact Deb Hustis for the meeting place!

Our current participants are anxious to have more youth join us, they know that...."MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK"!

Please contact us to find out more!

Presbytery of Genesee Valley

The Presbytery Youth Council is a ministry of the Congregational Ministries Committee. The Committee concerns itself specifically with empowering and enlivening the ministry of every congregation of the Presbytery, whether located in an urban, town, country, or suburban environment. The Committee assists individual congregations in demonstrating the connectedness and mutual needs of Presbyterians by developing a Presbytery youth ministry in support of local congregations' youth ministries.

Presbyterian Youth Connection PC(USA)

As youth and adults, we respond to God's call through the Holy Spirit to be connected to each other, the church, and the world so that our lives proclaim with joy that Jesus Christ is Lord! In response to those needs, the 205th General Assembly (1993) approved the creation of a new national youth ministry organization, named the Presbyterian Youth Connection.

The Presbyterian Youth Connection seeks to do just that -- connect young people to each other, the whole church, and the whole world through faith in Jesus Christ.
